Konzept und Design für die Jahrestagung 2019 des SFB 980 Episteme in Bewegung
Das Thema der Jahrestagung 2019 des Sonderforschungsbereichs 980 „Episteme in Bewegung“ war in diesem Jahr „(Nicht)Wissen“. Inhaltich beschäftigte sich die Tagung mit der Vermittlung und dem Transport von Wissen, das im Akt der Vermittlung abgelehnt, verkannt oder ausgeblendet wird und untersuchte dabei die kreativen Potentiale, die dem Akt der Negation, Ausblendung und Zerstörung trotz allem innewohnen.
Um dieses Thema visuell abzubilden lag es nahe, den Begriff des (Nicht)Wissens unsichtbar zu machen, um seine Negation im Kontext zu den anderen Inhalten darzustellen, aber auch um die scheinbare Abwesenheit von Wissen anzudeuten. Um aber das in seiner Negation sehr wohl vorhandene Wissen trotzdem darzustellen wurde das Wort mit UV-Lack gedruckt, so dass es nur durch die Spiegelung von Lichtreflexen und im Vorübergehen für den Betrachter sichtbar wird. Das Wort füllt immer das ganze Format, bleibt aber durch seine Unsichtbarkeit trotzdem sehr dezent. Der Untertitel der Jahrestagung dient einerseits der Blickführung auf dem sonst sehr weißen Plakat, und gleichzeitig streicht er das Wort (Nicht)Wissen durch. Eine weitere Negation.
The CRC 980 “Episteme in Motion” annual conference´s topic in 2019 was “(Nicht)Wissen”. It dealt with transfer and transport of knowledge, that was refused, misjudged or disregarded during the act of transfer. Analysed were the creative processes, that inhabit the act of negation, fade-out and destruction.
To visualize the topic of (Nicht)Wissen, it was obvious to make this word kind of invisible, to display its negation in context to the other informations on the poster and to give a hint of the apparent absence of knowledge. To also depict the fact, that knowledge even exists throughout its negation, this word was printed with UV-varnish. So it is there and not there, just visible through light reflections on the varnish, that occur while passing by the poster. The word always fills the whole formate of the printed issues, but it is still very subtle because of its invisibility. The subtitle of the conference is an eyecatcher on the very white and empty poster, and at the same time, it crosses out the word (Nicht)Wissen. Another negation.
